An avid multi-instrumentalist and lifelong music enthusiast combined with a keen business sense and recognition of the rapidly changing global music scene, makes Pacific International Music CEO Rob Mackay a fierce competitor in today’s rapidly evolving music business. With a love for colorful sounds and intricate instruments, this native Australian oversees the operation of Pacific International Music from his office in Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia. Mackay aids in the handling of Australia-based PIM writers and artists as well as producing and co producing (with biz partner Mike Flanders) Australian artists of all genres.
Rob has also witnessed success with his own project, The BobKatz, an Australian-based country music duo. The BobKatz’s most recent album and title-track, “Coals,” delivered the duo’s 1st National No 1 and at the 2010 Tamworth Songwriters Association Awards, The Bobkatz took winning awards for Contemporary Song of the Year and Country Song of the Year, as well as receiving a nomination for the Country Music Association of Australia for Group or Duo of the Year.
With an upbringing in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia, Mackay appreciates and enjoys all music genre’s and applies his trademark enthusiasm and natural business savvy to the development and progress of Pacific International Music both in the Australia, the U.S. and abroad. Rob is currently developing a fresh new model for independent record deals as well as overseas touring opportunities for PIM artists.
