A native of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, Michael Flanders relocated to Nashville in 2007 to let his creative energy explode onto Music Row. A fan of anything he can lay down a soulful slide guitar track onto, Flanders’ approach to songwriting is genre-less and generally bursting with emotion. Through his tenure in Australia as a songwriter and producer for Warner/Chappell Australia, Flanders’ exposure to a mix of talent, helped to further develop his “ears” and savvy for superb lyrics, ‘licks and arrangements. Chaise experienced warranted success in the 1990s as an Australian Pop singer and songwriter. With a sound that combines elements of R&B, Soul, Gospel, Rock, and now Pop Country, Chaise finds a sanctuary in weaving these elements into her writing – whether solo or with a co-writer. Her success in Australia, including her hit songs “Only Be Me” and “So In Love,” – one of 1998’s biggest club hits in Australia – Chaise was able to hone her craft with some of Australia’s biggest songwriters. Born in Hobart, Tasmania, Colin Street developed an interest in music through high school, forming and performing in various bands as a bass player/vocalist. Street was a member of numerous acts before securing a position on bass in the nineties rock band Reckless Hearts. This band would go on to a record deal with Emerald City/Polydor and tour the country opening for acts such as John Farnham and Bryan Adams and appearing on the prime-time Australian TV show, “Hey Hey It’s Saturday.” Next stop Queensland. A collaboration with fellow Hearts member Bruce Holloway, Street formed “Holloway Street,” penning and releasing a self-titled country record. The duo, realizing the increased opportunities overseas, relocated to the songwriting capital to expand their writing expertise. Signing with Pacific International Music in December 2007, Street has three cuts on the upcoming Jill King album, including title track “Rain On Fire,” a number six Australian country hit with the Kane Harrison release, “The Moments,” and cuts with Karl Broadie, Ronnie Rae Rivers and Kylie Hogan in Australia. A native of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, Bruce Holloway delved into guitar at an early age and quickly found his calling in music. Throughout his life, Holloway played in numerous bands in Australia, evolved into an accomplished performer, and enjoyed success in front of many audiences, most notably appearing on the prime-time Australian TV show, “Hey Hey It’s Saturday” with his band Reckless Hearts. The final years of Holloway’s life found him surrounded by music, and served as a reward for what he had been searching and preparing for his whole life. Moving to Nashville, Tennessee in December 2006 inspired growth in his music career once more. With every co-writing session, Holloway naturally brought new ideas and hooks to the table. In the 2008 calendar year, he turned in more than 100 songs as a Pacific International Music writer and a similar amount the previous year. “The Moments,” recorded by Australian artist Kane Harrison, was the first song to break through for Holloway, reaching number six on the Australian CMC chart in 2009. On April 17, 2009, Holloway was riding his motorcycle home from a co-write; as he was turning into his driveway, he was struck by a drunk driver and killed. Muscle Shoals, AL, a rural Tennessee River town, is at the crossroads of folk, country, and rhythm and blues. It’s banks are the birthplace of Helen Keller, W.C. Handy, and Sam Phillips. For decades the area has been an underground hot bed of musical talent. In 1999, Doug Stokes got his start as a demo singer at Rick Hall’s Fame Studios. His songwriting savvy soon snagged him his first exclusive songwriting deal, and with that – adoption into the Muscle Shoals hit music tradition. 2010 marks over a decade in the music business for Stokes. His singing and skills as a drummer have taken him around the world supporting other artists. Today, Doug resides in Columbia, TN, where he enjoys the small-town life with his wife Tammy, and three kids. A native of Americus, Georgia, Jason James signed with Pacific International Music in 2009. With Top 10 videos in Australia from their latest record, The Writer, The Bobkatz have launched into the new decade with a strong groundswell of support from their burgeoning legion of fans. Dynamic young Australian songwriter and vocalist Sarah Kay, received instant affection in Australia for her outstanding vocal performance on the lead single “Feel The Rain” from her debut album Dawn of a New Day. Kay co-wrote six songs on the album, produced on two continents by Pacific International Music heads Michael Flanders and Rob Mackay. “Feel The Rain,” reached number one in Australia – a song penned by PIM writers Chaise, Jason Carson and Pam Wolfe. Kay’s affinity for music started in high school with lead roles in musicals, as a student of the Townsville Academy for Performing Arts, and then owning the microphone in a variety of cover bands before traveling to Nashville to hone in on her songwriting skills. From the age of 10, Andrew Cochrane started penciling his first tunes. As a young teenager he cut his teeth as a guitarist working in 80s hit bands such as Blaze, Satellite Spies and The Straight. Also playing local studio sessions, it wasn’t long before Cochrane became focused on the whole process of writing and producing with other artists. Following this passion, today Cochrane is a writer/producer living in Brisbane and working with successful local bands and artists such as Citipointe Live, Nainby, The Veronicas, Col Finely, Stephanie Brownlee, and Chardon Lewis. Inspired by past and present great writers, Cochrane’s ambition is to write truly inspiring songs. A native of New South Wales, Australia, Drew McAlister is well-versed in the many facets of the music industry’s offerings. From session work, to landing a deal with EMI, McAlister eventually found his comfortable spot as a singer-songwriter in country music. McAlister regularly visits Nashville to immerse himself in the writing community. Born and raised in Queensland, singer-songwriter Nik Phillips has performed his music globally, from Australia and New Zealand to the United States and China. His music is an honest reflection of contemporary Australian life. With a musical style ranging from pop/roots through to alternative/country, Nik’s thought-provoking lyrics blend effortlessly with his emotional melodies. Jason Carson has always had a passion for creativity and performance art. At an early age he found himself in the ensemble cast of The New Mickey Mouse Club, sharing the stage with the likes of Keri Russell, Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling. Later, Carson toured the U.S. as a member of the successful country band, Shiloh. Pam Wolfe is a songwriter, singer, pianist, author, and playwright. As a songwriter, Wolfe’s songs have been recorded by many artists including: Patti Labelle (“Don’t Block the Blessings”), Garth Brooks (“It’s Your Song,” “Take The Keys To My Heart”), Johnny Cash (“Woodcarver”), Lacy J. Dalton, Glen Campbell, Billy Joe Royal, Tom Paul Glaser, and Lynn Anderson. As a singer, Wolfe has performed as both a solo act and live and in the studio with artists including Garth Brooks, Steven Seagal, Emmy Lou Harris, Conway Twitty, Reba McEntire, Pam Tillis, Earl Thomas Conley, Dexter Redding, Billy Joe Royal, Earl Scruggs, Charlie Pride, and Minnesota Fats. Born and raised in New York City, Janey Street has achieved much success as both a singer and a songwriter. As an artist, she’s recorded albums for Warner Brothers/Reprise, Capitol Records and Arista Records (under the guidance of legendary music mogul Clive Davis). Her single “Under the Clock” was a top 20 AC hit, and its accompanying music video received frequent airplay on VH-1, bringing a whole new audience to Street.
