Pacific International Music – Nashville General Manager Michael Flanders is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, writer and producer. Naturally gifted with a passion for music, Flanders is constantly exploring new directions, and is not afraid to experiment. His creativity, vision and attention to detail ensure that he will continue to produce quality music. Flanders’ career in music took an important turn when he signed on as a staff songwriter to Warner/Chappell Music Australia in 1995, where he had the opportunity to write with some of Australia’s most renowned writers including Nick Smith (Black Sorrows) and Gary Frost (Moving Pictures, Wendy Matthews, Alan Caswell). In conjunction with the creation of his own home studio around this same time, Flanders began working closely with Warner/Chappell CEO John Bromell on many projects, eventually leading Flanders into a producer position for the company. For the next five years, Flanders produced mostly Alternative and Pop music acts including his wife, Chaise, resulting in an album that spawned a number one Australian hit song for her, “Only Be Me.” In 2000, Flanders turned and focused his efforts towards the Country and Americana music genres, and was producing 10 albums per year while continuing to co-write with a variety of both Australian and U.S. artists. Flanders also held a position at Arctic/BMG Australia. Flanders is well educated and experienced in the multi-faceted music business. A native of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, Flanders relocated to Nashville in April 2007 to open the local Pacific International Music office as a partner and signed writer, expand his expertise to the blossoming Music City, and gain a stronghold in the U.S. market.
Today, Flanders has a lengthy, almost inconceivable list of songs he’s written, projects he’s produced and cuts he and Pacific International Music has had, particularly since the company’s arrival in Nashville. Flanders organic mentality is illustrated by his involvement in a project from conception to finished product, by continuing to co-write, produce and pitch songs from the Pacific International Music roster.
